California has increased the height limit for ADUs to 18ft, enabling the design and building of 2-story ADUs. With lot sizes typically 33’x100’ in cities like Berkeley, you can now plan for a 500sf, 2-story, 3-bedroom/2-bathroom ADU on your lot.
