Kim Gaffney

Project Captain

Kim holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in architecture from UC Berkeley. A passionate architectural designer with deep interest in community focused design, sustainable design, and affordable housing, Kim has honed her skills at Bay Area firms in single family home design and renovations, multi-family residential projects, and urban planning. Her passion for serving the community has led her to take on commissioner roles and serves as Vice Chair of both the Zoning Adjustments Board and the Design Review Committee for the City of Berkeley.

A hallmark of TJA services is to marry sustainable design with high performance building science and construction knowledge, resulting in high quality, cost-efficient projects. Kim has served as a construction crew leader for Habitat for Humanity and is looking forward to deepening her knowledge about construction administration. In her spare time, in addition to volunteering, she hikes, crafts, and spends quality time with friends, family, and her cat Tony.
